Karthikeyan joins Hispania

India’s first F1 driver and former Jordan and Williams teamster, Narain Karthikeyan will be driving for Spanish squad Hispania HRT in 2012. Ammar Alvi reports.

He might not have ever had a podium finish in Formula 1 Championship, something all Indian6s have prayed for, since the time he made it to the Jordan team in 2005, but Narain Karthikeyan hopes 2012 would bring him luck with his new team Hispania HRT. Yes, the former Williams F1 test driver will be driving for HRT for the whole of 2012 Formula 1 season. This is indeed a great opportunity for Karthikeyan, as it will give him a good opportunity to stabilise his racing career and further establish himself as one of the finest drivers in the sport.

Back on the F1 grid, Karthikeyan will contest the entire 2012 F1 season with HRT team, with whom he has shared a strong bond because last year’s efforts. In 2011, Hispania HRT contested nine F1 Grand Prix’s for the Hispania HRT racing squad, including the Indian Grand Prix, and his best finish in the season was 17th position. With a full year contract in his pocket for 2012, he is confident and prepared to give his best shot in the coming season.

We hope that with the Indian Formula 1 having taken off successfully last year, Karthikeyan would also find his luck very soon.
