Nine killed in road mishap near Tuticorin in TN

TUTICORIN: Nine persons, including women and children, were killed after their vehicle collided with a state roadways bus in Srivaikuntam area of the district, officials said.

All the eight passengers, including four women and three children died on the spot when their van collided with the bus at Ponnankurichi village near Srivaikuntam at around 3.30 PM, District Collector Ashish Kumar said, adding one passerby also died in the mishap.

One injured bus passenger has been admitted to the government hospital at Srivaikuntam.

The van was going to Tirunelveli from Tiruchendur, he said.
