Telangana outscores Seemandhra in SSC

HYDERABAD: Students from the Telangana region performed better than their counterparts in Rayalaseema and Coastal regions in this year’s SSC exams the results of which were announced here on Sunday.

Out of the 10 best performing districts in the State, six are from the Telangana region with Nizamabad leading from the front with 92.65 pass percentage. Karimnagar and

Nalgonda districts stood in second and third positions respectively. But the state capital, Hyderabad, recorded the lowest pass percentage of 71.79 in the State.

And as usual, girls out performed boys by 1.14 per cent. According to officials of the SSC board, the total pass percentage was 81.63 per cent in respect of regular candidates. ‘‘There is an increase of 1.80 per cent when compared to 2009,’’ Director of Government Examinations Pronoti Suhasini Kavoori said. But, there is a 1.75 per cent dip in the pass percentage of private candidates.
