One more dies of swine flu in Visakhapatnam

HYDERABAD/ VISAKHAPATNAM: Dreaded swine flu has claimed one more victim in Visakhapatnam, taking the toll to five in the state so far this season. Interestingly, four of them were women.

A woman from Srikakulam - N Nagamani - who was admitted to Chest Hospital here on June 25, died of the infection.

Nagamani first complained of fever and when she found that the fever was continuing, consulted a doctor in Vizianagaram on June 17. Later she was shifted to a private hospital on June 23 in Visakhapatnam.

After confirmation that she had swine flu, she was admitted to Chest Hospital in Visakhapatnam on June 25. She died this evening, medical authorities said.

Already 30-year-old youth Appanna died of infection recently after he visited Annavaram temple where he is learnt ot have contracted H1N1.

In Hyderabad, three women died recently - one pregnant woman from Zaheerabad and another from Mahaboobnagar district. Another woman died in corporate hospital in Hyderabad a few days ago.
