Ask Prabhu Chawla

Q: Why is BJP not making Narendra Modi its official Prime Minister candidate for 2014 Lok Sabha election or is BJP central leadership still convinced that that they all are strong leaders?

A: Those who illegitimately control the party at the centre feel that they are much more qualified persons to become Prime Minister than Modi.

Q: Is it fair to say that Congress led by Sonia sacrificed Indian economy to facilitate the election of Rahul as Prime Minister? In other words, wittingly or unwittingly, they decided to use Indian economy as pawn to make sure that the dynasty continues unabated.

A: When did Rahul become the Prime Minister and where? According to official records Dr Manmohan sing is still the Prime Minister of India and Rahul Gandhi is one of the general secretaries of the Congress party.

Q: Why can't the news channel interview Sonia and ask her about the allegations made by Dr Swami? That will put an end to all the controversies once and for all. Or, is the media terrified to ask tough and direct questions?

A: Can you force any leader to give an interview if he or she refuses to? Our requests are pending with her office.

Q: It is becoming an open secret that Maoists in India are working for the White Christians who are trying to create lawlessness and then run Christian conversion programs to take control of the land and make the converts a cultural slave of the Whites. Your usual ‘standing-on-2-stools’ comments, please.

A: I have to express my views and not yours. I don't share your communal interpretation of a purely economic terror issues. We have failed to face them decisive either through state power or through proper development policies. Maoists are just anti-national terrorists. They have no colour, caste or religion.

Q: Do you agree that if stature is a pre-requisite for the person occupying Raisina Hills, Sangma may not fit into the scheme of things? Also, don't you think his straight-forward approach might be a big handicap?

A: I dont understand your question. Are you saying Sangma doesn't have a stature? He was quite a tough speaker of the Lok Sabha. He is eminently qualified.

Q: In Andhra Pradesh, when the producer of Mahesh Babu's blockbuster film announced its record-breaking box office collections, IT officials immediately raided their offices. Now, when films of two heroes belonging to a Congress MP Family declared big hits, the IT department is sitting quietly. Is it not misuse of power?

A: I don’t think so. IT people keep gathering information over a period of time and strike when they collect strong evidence of tax evasion. However, the cases of political discrimination are on the rise lately.

Q: While Finance Minister talks about austerity measures due to the current economic situation, the newspapers (both English and vernacular) carried huge ads released by various Government Ministries on the occasion of Rajiv Gandhi's death anniversary, instead of one common advertisement. Do austerity measures not cover these splurges?

A: Newspapers got just Rs 25 crore while President spent over Rs 200 crores on her foreign travels. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, deputy chair person of the Planning commission spends over Rs 2 per day during his foreign trips. Ads don't make any dent. Government has to reduce its size and prune corruption-ridden social schemes like NREGA. It must withdraw massive tax concessions given to rich people.
