3-day VHP meet begins

HYDERABAD: A 3-Day meeting of All-India Dharma Prachara Samiti of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) began at Gujarati Seva Samaj Bhavan here Friday.The meeting, being attended by 220 delegates, will deliberate on programmes to create public awareness and launch an agitation over Ram temple in Ayodhya. It will aslo discuss religious conversations, reservation for Dalit Christians, Ram Janmabhoomi, protection of temples and unity of all swamijis for protecting the Hindu dharma.The deliberations will help the VHP leadership prepare a draft proposal on their future programmes in consultation with Sadhu Sammelan which will be held in Delhi next month.VHP International secretary Dineshji, who inaugurated the meeting, attacked the UPA Governemt at the Centre, accusing it of pursuing anti-Hindu policies. He called upon all State units of VHP to be prepared for another battle on Ram Janmabhoomi.He said they strongly opposed religion-based reservation and quota for Dalit Christians as it might encourage conversions. He appealed to all swamijis to visit SC and ST colonies in the country.VHP secretay Mohan Joshi, treasurer G Raghava Reddy and several seers spoke.VHP International secretary- general Praveen Togadia and GHMC mayor B Kartik Reddy and TDP leader Kavita will attend Mahila Sammelan being organised Saturday.
