NEW DELHI: The Nationalist Congress Party has demanded a ban on RSS and other rightwing groups - Abhinav Bharat and Jai Vande Matram - for their purported involvement in terrorist activities, besides constituting a task force under a sitting judge for a relook into all bomb blasts after 1994.Basing the demand on Swami Aseemanand’s recent confession before the Metropolitan Magistrate in a Chandigarh court, NCP general secretary Tariq Anwar met Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Monday to convey his party’s stand. In the light of emerging evidence and a special MCOCA court granting permission to the CBI to reinvestigate the Malegaon case, Anwar also asked the minister to help secure the release of all Muslim youth held in the case. “They should be released immediately as there is ample proof of Hindu radicals carrying out the Malegaon blasts,” he said.
