At the launch of 'Bangaari'. At the launch of 'Bangaari'. Ragini Dwivedi who is basking in the success of 'Kalla Malla Sulla' and crossing fingers on the success of her latest film 'Aarakshaka', Yogesh alias Loose Maada who is also equally basking on the success of Hudugaru and hoping his recent film Sidlingu to become a huge success, have joined hands for the film 'Bangaari'.

Ma Chandru, who has been associated with Dayal Padmanabhan for films such as 'Masaale', 'Love Me' and 'Baa Baaro Rasika', will make his debut as director with the film 'Bangaari'. “I have also worked as an associate director for three Tamil films—'Maaya Kannadi', 'Idhu Kaadal Pedestal' and 'Priyamale'. All the films were successful at the box office,’’ said Ma Chandru.

Elaborating on 'Bangaari', Chandru said that he had prepared the script five years ago, based on a real life incident that took place 15 years ago. “The script is very interesting and it has all elements that are must to make a film,’’ said Chandru.

While Ragini and Yogesh are the lead pair, Ramesh Bhat, Satyapriya, Dandapani, Suman Shetty, Sadhu Kokila, Sharat Lohitasva and Mysore Krishna are the other star cast in this film that has a lot of scope for sentiment and action. Its muhurte function was held on Monday at Sri Kanteerava Studios. Hat-trick hero Shivarajkumar sounded the clap board for the muhurte shot on Yogesh and Ragini.

The director said that he had selected Yogesh since he is capable of playing such character that has rough shades. “We are planning to put up a set in Mysore for a song sequence. Yogesh will appear in 12 get ups in that song sequence,’’ says the director.

According to the director, 'Bangaari' is about the life of a drunkard’s son who has to kill his father unable to cope with his harassment. Later, he was fostered by a person who exploits the former to realise his political ambition. “Ramesh Bhat is playing the role of a greedy politician in this film,’’ says the director.

The film 'Bangaari' has eight songs and four stunt sequences. A M Neel is the music director while Niranjan Babu has been assigned to handle the camera. As of now, its shooting is in progress in Bangalore and the director has a plan to shoot the film in Udupi, Malur, Mysore, Udupi and Kasargod. “We are planning to shoot a song sequence in and around Jaipur shortly. There is a plan to put up village fair set at Malur to shoot another song,’’ the director said.
