Software Freedom Day fete

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: IT@School will organise talks and ‘install fests’ to celebrate Software Freedom Day falling on September 18. Programmes will be held at all resource centres of IT@School. Public can make use of the ‘install fests’ to get their computers loaded with free software. Software Freedom Day will be celebrated in schools on a convenient day  between September 18 and 22 which the schools can decide.

    The DPI has already issued a notification in this regard.ViCTERS channel will telecast an exclusive programme of three-and-a-half-hour duration on free software.

   A film that describes free software in the most simple manner ‘Good Copy Bad Copy’ will be shown on September 20 at 10 a.m. More details on Software Freedom Day is available on www.itschool.gov.in.
