THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Harilal can now look forward to pursue his medical ambitions with confidence. Despite grabbing high ranks in the medical entrance examinations, financial impediments had blurred his dreams, but not anymore. The Organisation of Retired Bankers in Trivandrum (ORBIT) has taken up the sponsorship of his studies.‘‘We have decided to give an amount around Rs 30,000 for the first year expenses of Harilal. We have also assured our financial assistance to Harilal for the following years,’’ said P K Ravindran Nair, secretary, ORBIT.Harilal, a native of Ayiroopara in the district, had secured 32nd rank in the All-India Medical Entrance Examination and 131st rank in the Kerala Entrance Examination. ORBIT will be giving financial aid to a B Tech candidate as well. The student will be identified once the engineering admissions are finalised.The financial assistance for both the candidates will be disbursed by Minister for Education and Culture M A Baby at Hotel Hill Palace on July 28.trivandrum@expressbuzz.com
