Last Updated : 31 Dec 2010 09:15:00 AM IST

KOCHI: Introduction of short distance flights with cheaper fares is being considered as an alternative to road travel, Yusuff Ali M A, director board member, Air India, has said.

He was speaking to mediapersons after inaugurating the photo exhibition being organised by the Photojournalists Forum here on Thursday. He said changing the headquarters of the Air India Express from Mumbai to Kochi will usher in a lot of positive changes. A majority of passengers of the airlines is from the state. The change will bring more attention to their problems and help solve their travel woes, he said and added that more domestic flights are on the cards.

While Kochi is to be developed as the commercial hub, Thiruvananthapuram will be the engineering hub of Air India Express, he said.

Your news seem to be biased to Kochi and against Thiruvananthapuram as seen by many of your reports in the past. I posted a comment yesterday on this news report to you which was in decent language and without any abuse but your moderators chose not to put int in the comment board section here. I have decided to discontinue your newspaper at my home henceforth and no more postings to you.
