IAS Academy gears up for challenge

HYDERABAD: Former Union Home Secretary K Padmanabhaiah, who will take on the responsibility as dean of the Sri Chaitanya IAS Academy, promises to improve the educational standards of the institute.“Andhra Pradesh students do not have enough communicative skills, either written or spoken, which is keeping them from scoring high grades in competitive examinations,” said former Union Home Secretary K Padmanabhaiah.“Now AP is slightly better and in coming years definitely would be the first in the civil services,” he said in an awareness seminar on civil services here on Sunday by Sri Chaitanya IAS academy (Sri Chaitanaya Educational Group).He assured he would take responsibility as a dean of the Sri Chaitanya IAS academy and produce civil servants who would create a corruption-free India. Civil Service aspirants must master in any two subjects with multi skills and command over written and oral communications skills, he said.“In 1960s and 70s, Tamil Nadu students used to get through the civil services more in number than the Gujarat students because of the information and awareness in these states. Later, Delhi and Bihar students are clearing the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams,” he said.BS Rao, chairman of the Sri Chaitanya Educational Group explained the UPSC civil service examinations pattern. He said that Sri Chaitanya had created history in AP education particularly in IIT, Medicine and Engineering entrance exams.Mohan Rao, principal, Chaitanya Educational Group said, there are three coaching levels for students. Level one is for intermediate students with their regular course, level two is for graduation students with their regular course. And another one is that one year coaching for Graduates and Post Graduates. He added that fee structure will be announced sooner. Academicians, civil service (IAS) aspirants, students with their parents were present.
