Fete for a cause

HYDERABAD: The employees of Convergys Hyderabad hosted ‘The Grand Fete 2010’ at their work premises recently to benefit a number of community initiatives as part of the corporate social responsibility drive.

Money raised by the fete will help purchase school equipment for the children of the Central Upper Primary school in Ligampally, a school adopted by Convergys in association with NGO ‘Project 511‘. The employees visited the school and handed over the collected stationery items to the students. Besides supporting the school financially, the employees also volunteer to teach the students and help train the teachers.

The proceeds of the event would also help in providing medical supplies to Birds Of The Air, an orphanage with 80 residents. Groceries and funds for excursions and festival celebrations for the residents of a local old age home would also be provided.

The well-attended fete, one of the key employee-engagement events featured stalls with a wide range of activities, games, crafts, food sales and musical entertainment.
