'Come up with new ideas'

HYDERABAD: Asserting that the UPA government is keen on providing all facilities to encourage young entrepreneurs to establish industries, D Purandareswari, minister of State for human resource development (HRD) called upon young entrepreneurs to come up with innovative ideas to develop industrial sector.

She was the chief guest at the 38th annual awards function of the Hyderabad Management Association (HMA) which was held here today.

Addressing the gathering, Purandareswari said the Central government would provide opportunities to young entrepreneurs who come up with new ideas to set up companies. ``The corporate managements should organise more training programmes, workshops, seminars and conventions to attract new entrepreneurs,’’ she said.

Naresh Chandra Gelli, president of the HMA, said the aim of the association is to enrich society through professional management and the HMA had earlier organised various events on “leadership challenges in turbulent times.’’ HMA is the first professional organisation to institute awards to recognise managerial and entrepreneurial excellence which are conferred annually.

The awards are selected by a specially constituted jury comprising eminent personalities from diverse fields.

Later, Purandareswari distributed awards to various business personalities for their outstanding performance in their respective fields.

Pennar Industries Limited managing director Ch Anantha Reddy was awarded `Manager of the Year Award ‘ while Vanka Ravindra Nath, managing director of R K Hair Products Private Limited bagged `Entrepreneur of the Year Award’ , AVSC Prasad of McML Protection Technologies Private Limited was given `Small Scale Entrepreneur of the Year Award,’ Surajit Benerjee, associate vice president, Marketing Ernst and Youth India Private Limited bagged `Young Manager of The Year’ Award’.

B Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy, Assistant General Manager-HR, Fenner India Limited was awarded ‘HR Manager of the Year’ while Rao Karusala, of LGS Global Limited `IT Professional of the Year Award.’ Dr Prahlada, Chief Controller of DRDO has been selected for Life Time Achievement Award while Hema Jain, chief executive officer (CEO) of Crux Management Services Limited, for HMA Member of the Year Award.

HMA secretary Hema Jain and vice president Ramesh Vemuganti were among those participated.
