Left join hands in NLC, Foxconn strike issues

CHENNAI: Communist parties CPM and CPI have jointly decided to hold a demonstration in Chennai on October 21 to condemn the anti-labour stance adopted by the state government in the ongoing agitation at the (NLC) and Foxconn company. The decision was taken at a joint meeting of CPM, CPI state secretaries D Pandian and G Ramakrishnan, respectively, at the CPI office on Thursday.The leaders, in a joint statement, said that the administrations of both the companies were trying to force agreements on the workers. They said the managements were resorting to intimidatory tactics and the state government was supporting the management by resorting to arrest of labour leaders and suspension of workers.
