CHENNAI: Technically qualified disabled people on Monday staged a protest demanding  jobs in front of the office of Commissioner of the disabled.

Murugasan, president of Technically Qualified Disabled People Welfare Association said, “ For the past 10 years no appointments have been made. We request the government to make appointments on compassionate grounds.” Most of the disabled people do odd jobs to make their ends meet, many of them have completed various Industrial Training Institute (ITI) courses and have been waiting for years to get a job.

Monday’s protest was a part of a long series of protest they had been staging in the past with no results. They say they will give up their protest if the Chief Minister gives them an appointment.
