BANGALORE: Waiting for a day might have saved his life, but the fear caught hold of him first. Vasudev S (15), studying 9th standard in SSB International School at Indiranagar, committed suicide at his residence in Kodihall on Wednesday night. There was a complete silence in Kodihalli 18th main as the boy killed himself by hanging. Neighbours were shocked to hear in the morning that Vasudev is dead. "Vasudev's father Srinivas is a businessman, his mother is a homemaker and he has one younger sister studying in sixth grade. After his parents slept, he took this extreme step."Last week he finished his exams, though he had done well, he was not satisfied with his performance and feared that he might fail. From the last day of his exams he was silent and did not speak to anybody. The boy was very active, we can't believe he has taken such a extreme step for a simple reason" said Shantha Kumar, a neighbour.'Had got good marks'Gayathri Bhagath, Headmistress of SSB International School said, "Vasudev was an average student and he had gained good marks and has passed in 9th standard. Parents had come to collect the progress card between 11 am to 12.30 pm today. We don't give progress card to students because it will lead to these kind of incidents, so we hand it over to parents. "If the student failed, we will conduct special class and reexam will be held with in a span of time, we won't make him/her to stay back one more year. there are 60 students studying in 9th standard and all have passed in the exam.""I can't believe he is no more. Yesterday we had played together and he hadn't shown much interest and he told he didn't do well in the exam but will work hard in SSLC if he passed," remembered M Vishal, one of his friends.
