Shot fired at Sri Sri’s convoy

BANGALORE: Sri Sri Ravi Shankar escaped unharmed after an unidentified gunman reportedly opened fire at his convoy in his Kanakpura ashram here on Sunday evening. A devotee was injured in the incident.

The incident took place as the Art of Living founder was about to leave the ashram after Sunday evening’s satsang (discourse) and a person standing in the devotees’ queue fired at him. Ravi Shankar asked his devotees not to panic, adding that the gunman could not fire a second time because of the positive energy in the ashram. Sources said the assailant is still absconding. A case has been registered with the Talagatpura police station. IG of Police Kamal Pant said the incident took place at around 6.15 pm, but the incident was reported much later to the police.
