‘Say no to pro-tobacco meet’

BANGALORE: City-based groups are widening the scope of their signature campaign against Central government’s decision to sponsor a pro-tobacco event.They are protesting the decision of Tobacco Board of India to sponsor the third Global Tobacco Networking Forum. The event will be held in Bangalore during October 4-8. It will discuss how to increase the reach and scope of the tobacco industry in India.City-based organisations had started taking signatures of medical and dental students on a petition against government’s involvement in the forum. Now, they are seeking signatures of students of other disciplines too.
