‘Madani visited Kodagu to plan Bangalore blasts’

BANGALORE: Abdul Nasser Madani, PDP leader who has been chargesheeted by the Bangalore police, had visited Lakkeri estate, Madapura in Kodagu district, to discuss the plan for the Bangalore serial blasts (2008) and abetted T Nasir and others to execute the plan. After the meeting, the main accused, Nasir, and the others conducted a recce of Bangalore. They reported to Madani again in a house in Ernakulam rented by them to explain the plan, an officer of the Bangalore ATC said. “Madani even assured them support for the jihadi work,” he said. H M Omkaraiah, the investigating officer of the serial blast case, cited the above matter in the additional chargesheet. Madani has been booked for abetment for waging war against India in connection with the blasts case. Madani was not only present at the meeting to discuss the terror attack, but also gave precautionary instructions to T Nasir, the main accused. Nasir, who conducted the recce along with Sarfaraz Nawaz and others, had met Madani at a rented house in Ernakulam to detail him about the plan. When Madani attended the meeting in Coorg, Nasir, Ummer Farooq, Ayub, Safaz, Saleem, Abdul Raheem, Mohammed Fayaz, P Fais, Mohammed Yaseen and others were present, the officer said.
